Fire department of Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation is stronger
Bhayander: Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation has decided to procure nine state-of-the-art vehicles to strengthen the fire department. The cost of these vehicles is around Rs 15 crore. On the other hand, in the current financial year, the corporation has also collected a record amount of Rs 24 crore for fire safety tax.
The municipal corporation has taken various measures to reduce the risk of fire in the city and has started strengthening the fire fighting system. As a part of this, the municipality has taken nine more state-of-the-art vehicles. These include 2 ‘Multiple Fire Tenders with Boom’, 4 ‘Mini Water Tenders’ and 3 ‘Regular Fire Tenders’. The new vehicles will enable early control of fire incidents and increase the capacity of the fire department, the municipality said.
Fire safety audit notices have been issued to all establishments in the city to reduce the risk of fire. For the safety of hospitals, structural audit of fire safety, electrical and construction quality of all 162 private and municipal hospitals has been completed. This has given hospitals a triple protection cover.
