Beneficiaries queue for fear of ‘Omaicron’
Navi Mumbai: After the completion of the first vaccination in the city and corona outbreak was brought under control, the beneficiaries were reluctant to take the second vaccine. However, in the last three or four days, the vaccine has once again gained momentum due to the threat of the mutated virus, Corona omecron. Municipal Corporation’s ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign is getting good response and there is a picture of queues at health centers.
In Navi Mumbai so far 11,74,766 people have taken the first dose and 7,86,356 people have taken both the vaccines. The proportion of those who have taken the second dose is still up to 70% of the total beneficiaries. Before Diwali, the municipality did not have vaccines but the beneficiaries were in line. After Diwali, the municipality has the vaccine but the beneficiaries are not coming to get the vaccine. The municipality has more than one lakh vaccines left till Wednesday.
As the beneficiaries were not coming to get the vaccine, the municipality had started a house-to-house search. Vaccines were made available near homes under the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign. Outbreaks appear to be exacerbated during this time. Therefore, new restrictions have been imposed. Therefore, it seems that the vaccine users who used to avoid it now prefer to be vaccinated as a safety precaution. Beneficiaries have started coming to the vaccination centers along with the municipal health centers to get vaccinated. So vaccination is gaining momentum now.
Beneficiaries should take the first dose of their Corona vaccine and go to the nearest Municipal Vaccination Center immediately after the prescribed period. The entire vaccine needs to be protected.
