New Delhi –Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Wednesday met former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and his party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi. Due to those visits, there is talk of growing closeness between Congress and Shiv Sena.
Raut met Rahul on Tuesday. During the meeting, Raut said that the Congress should take the lead in establishing a nationwide opposition front. He then had an hour-long discussion with Priyanka. Assembly elections will be held soon in Uttar Pradesh and Goa.
It is understood that the issue of handshake between the two parties was also discussed in that election. Shiv Sena is trying to expand to other states. Therefore, the importance of Raut’s meetings has increased. There has been talk for days that Shiv Sena is keen to become a part of the Congress-led alliance (UPA). However, it is not yet clear whether the issue was discussed during Raut’s visit.
