New Delhi: Bipin Rawat, India’s first CDS chief of staff, died in a helicopter crash. An Army helicopter crashed in Tamil Nadu yesterday morning. They were traveling through it. The helicopter had crashed between Coimbatore and Sulur.

Several senior officers were traveling in the helicopter. Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat was also traveling by helicopter. He was accompanied by his wife Madhulika Rawat. He too died in the accident.

Another piece of news has come to light after this tragic incident. An ambulance carrying Bipin Rawat and 12 others was also injured in the accident and several police personnel were injured. More details are not yet available.

Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika will be cremated on Friday. The bodies of Rawat, Madhulika and all the others have been shifted to Madras Regiment Center. From here the bodies of Rawat and Madhulika will be brought to Delhi.
