Thane: Due to the threat of Corona omecron virus, it was decided to start primary schools in urban and rural areas of Thane district including Mumbai from December 15 at the local level. Therefore, with a period of 15 days, the school management has started the work of starting the school with adequate preparation.

The state government initially decided to start the school from Wednesday, December 1. However, due to confusion, the school management was not prepared enough. A picture of school management being blown up on Tuesday was seen. Many schools had opted to start certain classes to complete the formalities of implementing the government’s decision. While some schools had planned to open other classes in phases, many schools had decided to admit boys and girls during the day. The decision, which was taken at the time, was met with outrage from many school managers. Thane district administration announced the decision to start the school from late December 15 on Tuesday evening. This has brought some relief to the school managers. The administration has instructed the management to start the school with full readiness after getting sufficient time, sources in the district education department told Loksatta.

Preparation stages continue

  • If the outbreak of the new corona virus is kept under control, classes I to VII in urban areas and classes I to IV in rural areas may start from December 15.
  • According to government rules, each student is required to have a distance of six feet. Therefore, the question of how to plan the seating arrangement of students has arisen in front of many school managers in Thane district. Planning to privatize the classroom, look at the seating arrangements and prepare for the students’ reception continued on Wednesday in different schools.
  • Most of the schools are planning to hold online parent meetings next week as it is also necessary to get the consent form of the parents before starting the school. Based on the consent form, the managers will be informed about the number of students in each class and accordingly, the classes will be filled by groups of students, some school managers said.
