Movements to make arrangements for treatment due to fear of omecron infection
Thane: Although the situation of corona infection is under control in the municipal area, the municipal system has become alert considering the danger of the new mutated omecron virus of corona. Considering that the risk of infection with this virus may be high, the municipal administration has taken steps to make arrangements for the treatment of the patients accordingly.
Due to low number of patients, the corporation has closed Corona Hospitals in Global and Kausa areas. At present, corona patients are being treated at the municipal hospital in Parking Plaza and Bhayanderpada area. Considering the potential danger of omecron virus, Thane Municipal Corporation has also started the process of making arrangements for the treatment of patients. The municipality has already set up temporary hospitals at Global, Kausa Sports Auditorium, Kalwa Bhumiputra, Pokhran Road Voltas Company, Bhainderpada for corona treatment. There are more than four thousand beds available in all these places. Considering the increasing number of patients, the municipal administration has planned to start the remaining hospitals as well.
The patient treatment system is being planned accordingly by anticipating the increase in the number of patients in the municipal area on the background of omecron virus. At present Parking Plaza and Bhayander Pada Hospitals are open. But if the number of patients increases, the rest of the hospitals are also planned to be started in phases. Stocks of oxygen and medicines are also planned.
