Signal started at one of the three places, traffic planning at Shivaji Chowk

Ulhasnagar: The signal system on the Kalyan-Badlapur state highway, which was installed a year ago but was closed, has finally been activated. The signals at Shivaji Chowk and Shastri Chowk, which are the busiest on this route, have been started in the first phase.

Traffic planning is being done at these places with the help of traffic police so that the citizens can get used to the signal. Therefore, there is hope that the traffic jam in this chowk will be resolved. The signal system at Four Line and Seventeen Section Chowk has not been implemented yet.

Most of the Kalyan-Badlapur state highway passes through Ulhasnagar city. Seventeen sections, Shastri Chowk, Shivaji Chowk, Four Line are the major traffic jams. At Satara Section Chowk, there is an important road leading to Camp Four, Vitthalwadi Station, Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation Headquarters and Shahad Station. Shivaji Chowk also has an important route to Ulhasnagar Station, Camp Two, the main markets. For Five Line is important to reach Camp Five, Ambernath, Central Hospital, Ulhasnagar Station and Kalyan.

In the last few years, a signal system has been set up here with the funds of the Municipal Corporation. Initially, the system was not started as there were no yellow lines for pedestrians at the crossroads. The road was in bad condition at Shivaji Chowk, Four Line.

In the last few months, the Rohitra, a power pole that used to be a hindrance at the Four Line intersection, has been removed. Obstacles at Shivaji Chowk were removed. The signal system in Shivaji Chowk area on this route has finally been started from Tuesday. As the signal system is new for drivers in Ulhasnagar, drivers often break the signal. However, the traffic police is now planning the traffic here.

Currently the time between two signals is fixed. Therefore, signals at Shastri Chowk and Shivaji Chowk have been started on an experimental basis. Other signals will start soon.
