Municipal team ‘sleeps’ after eleven
Navi Mumbai: After the number of corona patients in the city is less than 50, it is noticed that the night squads of the municipality are not taking action. Pubs and bars in the city are running till dawn. Although the matter came to light after a picture of a bar in Belapur was aired on social media, most of the bars and pubs are still operating and the corona rules are being trampled on.
Even after this type of revelation, the Municipal Corporation and the police team did not take any action against any bar, so does the Municipal Corporation team go to sleep after ten o’clock at night? Such a question is also being raised.
Most of the corona prevention rules appear to be in violation of bars and pubs. What is special is that time constraints are not observed in many places. Some former MPs have also pointed out the issue of municipal administration by broadcasting pictures from dance bars live on social media. The video is being aired on CBD under the name Dhamaka. As a result, the municipal administration has woken up. From this video, it is understood that the Municipal Commissioner has taken the officers to task. But it is not clear where the action actually took place. Basically no action. However, minor action is taken, said an official of the Municipal Corporation. Three bars in the city have been sealed during the entire Corona period. Of these, the Atlanta Bar in Vashi has been the most frequently attacked. Municipal Corporation imposes a fine of up to Rs 25,000 for breaking the restrictions. But our two-hour business is 25,000, so the owners don’t care about the fine, said a waiter at a dance bar in Vashi.
Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s team is on duty only till half past ten at night. The squad is nowhere to be seen in the city after the corona numbers were seized. Police say the actual municipal corporation needs to increase the night squad.
A case has been filed against the blast pub. Action is taken against those violating the Corona rules as soon as information is received and security is also provided to the municipal team.
-Suresh Mengde, Deputy Commissioner, Police
The night patrol time has now been reduced to one and a half instead of one and a half. The squad is also being augmented. Therefore, action will be taken against bars and pubs.
