Demand for action as theft and disputes escalate
Navi Mumbai: While the number of illegal slums is increasing in the rural areas of the city, now the scrap shops are creating many problems for the citizens. Due to this, the number of thefts has also increased and action is being demanded against them.
The city has many villages from Diwali to Digha. Illegal huts are located around these original villages. It is now surrounded by illegal scrap shops. The stolen goods are being brought here and sold. This has led to many disputes. These illegal scrap shops have become a hotbed of crime. The triple massacre in the Turbhe area is a case in point. The scrap mafia has set up shop in the premises of several closed companies in the MIDC area. The stolen goods are being sold in shops around the village. The encroachment department of the municipality needs to take action against the illegally set up scrap shops with fixed rent. But the corporation is ignoring this.
Illegal scrap shops are becoming a nuisance for the city. When asked about this, the police have promised to take action as soon as possible after getting information about the scavengers in the city.
In Navi Mumbai, unhygienic conditions are hampered by illegal scavengers around villages. The corporation will take appropriate action in this regard. Appropriate instructions will be given to the concerned sanitation inspectors.
